As a couple we like to spend time with family and friends. Our parents taught us a lot about life and the importance of family. Bubba's parents have passed away, his father in 1999 and his mother in 2011 from breast cancer. His mom left a huge impact on both of our lives and taught us to always have faith. My parents still live in the house I grew up in. My dad is retired and spending time catching up on all the sleep he missed raising four children. My mom works as a secretary in the education department of a college in SE Nebraska.
We have seven nieces and nephews ranging in age from 2-14. We love to spend time with them. Our nieces each spend a week with us during the summer. I also love to make each of them a handmade present for Christmas. This is from Christmas 2014 with Bubba's side of the family, I had an elf costume for school and decided to wear it again. I made the older children blankets and the younger three stuffed animals.

Our nieces and nephews are important to us, but of course we wouldn't have them without our siblings. Bubba is the youngest of three having a sister and brother. I am the second of four. I have an older sister and two little brothers. All of our siblings and in-laws are ecstatic to have a new niece or nephew to spoil.
Family is extremely important to us, with both of our families anxiously anticipating us becoming parents. Bubba's grandma has already made her future great-grandchild a quilt.
As the previous page mentions extended family plays a large role in our life.
